Online Parkinson’s Diseases Prediction System

This application was developed under the guidance of Project PI, Dr. Sudip Paul and designed and developed by Project SRF, Mr. Vinayak Majhi.

This is a research project titled “Design of cost effective mobile and web application for detection of Parkinson’s disease” funded by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India for sponsoring the project under the scheme IMPRINT-2 File no: IMP/2018/000034, Dated: 28 March, 2019.

Parkinson’s disease (PD) has no cure. Over time, patients with PD progress to permanent disability. Early detection of Parkinson’s is the only way to save the patient by preventing it from getting worse. This designed application can predict the probability of developing PD based on the questionnaires. Through this web application, users have to fill in their basic details like name, age, gender, height and weight followed by some PD related questionnaires. To fill out this form, users do not need any expert advice other than basic knowledge of the English language. The web application itself automatically guides the user from start to finish and generates the report. The designed algorithm calculates a cumulative score for the user and predicts the likely occurrence of PD in relation to the user’s inputs, age, gender and body type (BMI).
